Get your pending Prudential Evolution LTC applications in before 12/31/09 Prudential LTCi News Effective January 1, 2010: LTC Evolution Rate Adjustment for New Business
One of the attractive features of Prudential’s latest
long-term care insurance product, LTC Evolution, is that the base policy keeps
pace with increasing costs of care, without having to add on any additional
riders. It does this by always paying 80 percent of qualifying expenses with no
daily or monthly dollar limits. In fact, it’s the only policy in the industry
that can make this claim, and it?’ the reason why many states have approved the
base Prudential LTC Evolution product to qualify for their Partnership program.
To enable Long-Term Care to provide this innovative
product with all of its features and benefits, part of the filing included an
annual go-forward increase on rates for new business only. This means that every
year, LTC Evolution policies issued from applications dated after January 1
will be priced slightly higher than policies issued from applications signed on
or before December 31 of the previous year.
The average increase of this annual rate adjustment is
about two percent and varies by age. Again, this 2010 premium increase applies
to new business only and will not affect existing policyholders or those whose
policies were issued from applications dated and signed by Thursday, December
31, 2009.
Hancock LTC marketing materials to change at year-end 2009 On
12/31/09, and subject to final regulatory approval, John Hancock Life Insurance
Company will merge into an existing affiliate, John Hancock Life Insurance
Company (U.S.A.). As a result, all LTC materials and forms are being revised
